HMM has proved its sustainable management capabilities by achieving the highest level of ratings from major global ESG evaluation institutions, including 'EcoVadis' and 'Sustainalytics'.
 
HMM acquired the 'Platinum' medal, the highest rating awarded only to the top 1% of companies, for the third consecutive year in the 2026 evaluation by 'EcoVadis', a global ESG evaluation institution.
 
This year, the company scored 91 points (out of 100 points), boosting its performance compared to the previous year (87 points). In addition to the environment sector (95 points) where it previously showed strength, its ethics sector score also improved, securing high scores within the top 1% across all areas.
 
Along with this, HMM maintained a 'Low Risk' rating in the ESG Risk Rating of 'Sustainalytics', which is used as a core investment indicator by global institutional investors, keeping the number one position among global shipping companies for the third consecutive year.
 
It recorded 12.7 points, showing improved performance compared to the previous year (13.6 points). Notably, it received excellent evaluations, obtaining the highest ratings of 'Negligible' or 'Low Risk' in most of the seven evaluation categories. In the Sustainalytics rating, a lower score indicates lower ESG risk.
 
An HMM official stated, "Maintaining the highest ratings for three consecutive years in both global ESG evaluations is a significant milestone," and added, "We remain committed to solidifying ESG management across all of our business areas."
