Following is a summary guideline of U.S .Weight Limits:
A. Gross Weight Limit Rule (includes Tractor, Container, Chassis and Cargo)
80,000 lbs gross limit:
12,000 lbs limit over front steering axle
34,000 lbs limit over tractor drive axle
34,000 lbs limit over chassis axles

The Federal and State regulations apply to the gross vehicle weight and weight on individual axles. To comply with the regulations, shipper has to load cargo considering distribution of the weight. Shipper will be held responsible for violation and fines, in case of failure to comply with the regulations.
B. Maximum Allowable Cargo Weights
Maximum allowable cargo weight includes product plus all packaging pallets and any blocking, bracing, and dunnage materials.
The below maximum allowable cargo weights serve as a general guideline considering most common weight of truck tractor, chassis, container and other equipment. The actual allowable cargo weight can vary upon weight of specific truck tractor, chassis, type of container and other equipment, which is necessary for road transportation or based on special requirement for delivery.

Overweight with Special Chassis: Please note that there may be none or limited number of special chassis by location, and specific regulations for each or multiple states will apply for overweight cargo handling. For Door cargo booking, overweight cargo acceptance will be subject to handling capacity, special chassis availability by location and overweight allowance/permit by state, in order to comply with Federal and State regulations. Please check with your sales representative to confirm its maximum weight/overweight acceptance before accepting booking.

Rental costs of special chassis vary by area and vendor. On the average include an extra $150 - $250 for the chassis rental and another $50.00 driver surcharge for handling heavy loads.
D. Overweight Permits:
These states will issue overweight permits in place of using tri-axles or super chassis:

Permits are issued by state. If cargo is moved across state line then permits must be obtained for each state.
Cargo weight will be governed by the state with lowest weight allowance if crossing from state to state.
Above overweight permits are valid for these states only.
Overweight surcharges are the same as chassis surcharges for tri-axles or super chassis if moved within the same state, if cargo moves across state lines then additional charge of $50.00 per state will be incurred.
Above are provided as general guidance. If there is heavier cargo exceeding the standard weight guidelines, it will be necessary to check with your sales representative to evaluate on a case-by-case basis and reply with additional charges or advice on before accepting booking.
